Jennifer Brink MA LLP

Have you ever met someone that you felt you could talk to about just about anything? Or didn’t have to worry about being judged, uncomfortable, or uncertain? I endeavor to be that person as part of my general personal values, and I hope to be that person for you. I am intrigued by and curious to learn about the lives people have lived and what has molded them and shaped them.

My main objective when working with clients is to assist them in identifying new insights about themselves, both past and present, and to understand the mechanisms behind their behaviors. With insight, there can be change. I believe in a holistic approach to identifying problem areas, understanding how the mind and body are connected in storing trauma, emotions, patterns of familial influence, and figuring out how to break out of cycles that limit people from living a full and joyous life.

The majority of my work experience has been within inpatient psychiatric facilities with acute or pervasive mental health concerns, and in working primarily with men who are court-ordered or incarcerated, including pre-trial risk assessment. I specialize in understanding and managing sexual behavior problems, relationships, depression and self defeating thoughts, gender and/or sexual identity issues, impacts of incarceration, substance abuse, acute and pervasive mental illness, and trauma. I am also in the beginning process of pursuing specialization in equine therapy as a means to enhance trauma treatment. My varied client experiences have allowed me to be a very open-minded, understanding, and non-judgmental therapist who is motivated to help you get where you want to be. I like memes, light-hearted sarcasm and wit, and finding ways to laugh through dark times, and this may come through in our work together.

In my spare time, I’m with my husband and our three children, two dogs, and one cat. I spend time each week volunteering with therapy horses and trying to feed my soul. I battle my ADHD daily with my love of organization and home decorating. I am a big fan of True Crime podcasts, playing games with social groups, and coaching youth soccer. I love helping people learn, and gaining random knowledge for myself.
